Minor in Deaf Studies UPDATE

Good news! The new requirements for a minor in Deaf Studies are as seen below. 
 If you are interested in minoring in Deaf Studies, you should make an appointment with Jackie Boyle, Director of Student Services in the School of Education.

The minor requirements are as follows:
24 total credit hours. All core courses are required, but students can pick which courses will make up the 8 elective credit hours. All courses are worth 4 credit hours unless otherwise indicated.

Core Courses (16 Credits):
SED DE 570- ASL I
SED DE 571- ASL II
SED DE 590- ASL III
SED DE 591- ASL IV

Elective Courses (only 8 Credits required):
SED DE 500- Introduction to the Deaf world (offered in the spring of odd years only)
SED DE 550- History and Culture of the Deaf (offered in the spring of even years only)
SED DE 551- Deaf Literature and Folklore
SED DE 554- Field Experience 
SED DE 572- Psychology and the Deaf
SED DE 672- ASL Structure


*NOTE THAT ASL 5 and 6 ARE NO LONGER MINOR REQUIREMENTS*
