Welcome back for the new school year! We have a lot of great events this year, and here are a few coming up in the next few weeks!
First, this Thursday at 4pm in the GSU Ballroom, noted artist and architect Maya Lin will be giving a presentation. She is best known for designing the Vietnam War Memorial as well as the Civil Rights Memorial. Her talk will be ASL interpreted and will include CART services.
Then, later in the month, for those interested in venturing off campus for some ASL events, check out Northeastern's Deaf, Deaf World! Their ASL Program is putting on this ASL immersive experience for students on Thursday, October 29th from 7-8:30pm in the Ballroom on the second floor of the Curry Student Center.
If you are interested in learning about the Deaf Grassroots Movement, join Bruce and Anbo on October 30th from 6-10pm in CGS 129. They are in the process of booking presenters with more information to come. Save the date!
And finally, are you looking for something to do this Halloween? Head over to the Quincy Community United Methodist Church at 40 Beale Street, right by the Wollaston T Station. The party starts at 5pm on October 31st with a costume contest at 6. There will be prizes for costumes and cash drawings! Admission is $13 and all proceeds go to DEAF, Inc.
